Hong Kong's
inter-club league
plays at night
Eight founding clubs. Eight Tuesday nights. Four doubles games a fixture, a singles DreamBreaker when it's level, and every single result pushed to DUPR. Balls, courts, refs, replay and catering are all on the league.
Club pickleball, run like a proper competition
The APPL takes Hong Kong's best club players out of the ad-hoc round-robin and into a structured season: fixed line-up order, home and away, a real table, and four separate finals so every club finishes the year playing for silverware.
An independent competition, run for players who want their Tuesday night to count for something — on the table and on their DUPR rating.
Four games. Fixed order. No negotiation.
Every fixture is played in the same sequence so clubs can plan line-ups and spectators always know what's next on court.
Men's Doubles
Two men, best of one to 11, win by 2. Sets the tone for the night.
Women's Doubles
Two women, same format. Historically the tightest game on the card.
Mixed Doubles 1
First mixed pairing. Clubs must nominate before the toss.
Mixed Doubles 2
Second mixed pairing. No player may appear in both mixed games.
The DreamBreaker
If the four doubles games are split 2–2, the fixture is decided by a singles DreamBreaker. One player from each club, one shootout, one winner. No draws leave this league.
DUPR submission is mandatory
Every match in the APPL is submitted to DUPR. All results count toward player ratings, so a league night is a rated night — for every player, in every game, all season.
Opening night
Table zero. Every club level.
The table goes live after Week 1. Fixture win = 3 pts · DreamBreaker win = 2 pts · DreamBreaker loss = 1 pt · loss = 0.

A pilot now. Three divisions next.
Season 1 is a deliberate pilot: one division, eight clubs, format proven in public. Season 2 opens Divisions 2 and 3 beneath it — 56 teams in total — with promotion and relegation connecting all three.
Division 1
The pilot division. Eight founding clubs, two groups of four, home and away plus crossovers.
- Bottom two relegated to Division 2 from Season 2
Division 2
Introduced in Season 2 and open only to teams entered by founding clubs.
- Top two promoted to Division 1
- Bottom two relegated to Division 3
Division 3
The base of the pyramid from Season 2, again restricted to founding-club teams.
- Top two promoted to Division 2
Two up, two down
From Season 2 the bottom two teams in Division 1 and Division 2 are relegated, and the top two teams in Division 2 and Division 3 are promoted. Every table matters at both ends, in every division.
Season 1 is the way in
Only the eight founding clubs of the pilot season may enter teams into Divisions 2 and 3. Enter now and your club can field multiple teams across the pyramid from Season 2 — clubs that sit the pilot out cannot.
